Short-Term Counselling
For clients who prefer short, solution-focused counselling (anywhere from 1 to 10 sessions).

While “counselling” and “psychotherapy” can be used interchangeably, there can be some stark differences between the two.
According to the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), “psychotherapy” is a “controlled act”, which is “distinct from both counselling, where the focus is on the provision of information, advice-giving, encouragement and instruction, and spiritual counselling, which is counselling related to religion or faith-based beliefs”. Both can, however, be “highly interrelated”.
Evidence-based psychotherapy can help explore the patterns, emotions, and experiences that shape how you think and feel, supporting longer-term emotional healing and personal growth.

The first session is a gentle introduction for us to get to know each other better. We’ll be talking about what brings you in, what you’re hoping for, and what’s been feeling heavy or stuck for you. It’s also a chance for you to ask questions and see if we’re a good fit to work together.
There’s no pressure to share everything at once. You’ll be setting the pace as we go.

It’s completely alright and normal to be nervous, especially if it’s your first time speaking to a therapist! You don’t have to have it all figured out before starting. And there’s no hard rule that says you have to continue if this space or your therapist is not a good fit for you.
Therapy is simply a space to explore what’s been on your mind, with someone who has been trained in evidence-based care, and who listens to you compassionately and non-judgmentally. You can come as you are, at your own pace. That said, I also hope I can co-create a comforting space with you for your wellness journey. :)

Everyone’s journey is different. Some people come for a few months to work through a specific concern, while others stay longer for deeper growth and healing.
We’ll check in regularly to make sure therapy continues to meet your needs and goals.

Depending on the service, my fees range from $160 to $250 for each session (either 50 or 90-minutes in length).
While we do not offer direct billing at this time, we offer a receipt at the end of each session for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. I recommend checking with your provider to confirm your coverage.
